Beaches
Army Bay is one of three beaches in Shakespear Regional Park. The regional park is an open sanctuary integrating recreation, farming and conservation. The beach itself features a free car park overlooking the water, and a narrow grassy bank area that's ideal for picnics.
Army Bay is a popular spot for locals launching their boats, kayaking and paddle boarding. The gentle curve of the sandy beach, the seclusion offered and the views of the Hauraki Gulf have created a picturesque spot for visitors to simply relax and enjoy the views.
Across the road is the main entrance into Shakespear Regional Park. The regional park is a habitat for native wildlife and includes a few scenic walking trails.
From the park's main entrance, a 5 minutes walk leads to the small yet picturesque Gully Waterfalls, while a 30 minute walk takes you to a lookout offering 360 panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf.
